When Dave reached the deadline he had sent for the release of his hand-drawn comic, he wasn't entirely prepared. So he grabbed some Mega Man sprites and starting piecing together a filler comic to keep the audience entertained while he prepared the hand-drawn comic. The early strips were simply random, unconnected comics featuring Mega Man talking and shooting stuff. Proto Man and a few robot enemies appeared randomly throughout the strips.
