Elraukar (Q."Star-Demons" S."Elrogath") were fallen Ainur associated with the stars and especially the stars that could be seen around the Sun during a solar eclipse.It was believed they were remnants of Morgoth's Shadow Spirits who had once attacked Sun and Moon and were banished from Ambar. Many of these rogues still wandered Menel and the regions of the outer Darkness between Ambar and the Stars, trying to find ways to return onto Middle-Earth. They could be contacted by Astrologers or could try to prey on or to corrupt careless Stargazers.
