Carmen Ikeya was a Federation Starfleet officer serving in the 23rd century. By the 2280s, the USS Constellation was under the command of Captain Ikeya. In 2283, the Constellation was destroyed when the star Achernar went nova. Fortunately, the phenomena was stopped by Admiral James T. Kirk and his crew, but they could not save the Constellation or her crew. (TOS novel: Time for Yesterday)
