Richard Darnville was a boy who got into a fight (not really a fight) with Paul Stevens in 5th grade. He bit Paul on the nose and Paul fell down. Richard's bite or Paul's fall left a scar on Paul's nose which he still had in adulthood. In The One With The Ring, Paul told his girlfriend at the time Rachel Green about this encounter while he was telling her about his miserable childhood and continuously crying. All this crying caused Rachel to break up with Paul.
