Jennie has only one trait which is being a bookworm, this also happens with Kitty Landgraab who only loves the outdoors and Vincent Skullfinder who is only artistic. Since Buster is a very old elder at the start of the game, it is known that Jennie and Ransom died a very long time ago, and if they did not drown they would have died of old age and would instead be elder ghosts in the graveyard.
