Gary "Litefoot" Paul Davis was born in Upland, California. He grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and is a mixture of Cherokee and chichimeca (Indians of northern Mexico) ancestry. He has lived in Seattle, Washington since 1997. Carmen is married to Davis, who serves as president of the Reach The Rez is the effort and Makah, Yakama, and Chippewa Cree tribes. They have a son, Quannah.
