Melnyk was a crewman on the USS Aldrin, assigned to security. In 2362, Melnyk was part of the away team assigned to evaluate abandoned Outpost T-22 on Kalandra Minor. Melnyk was killed during the Romulan attack on that outpost. (NF short story: "Revelations")
