Motivated by a trip to Ethiopia in 1984 during a famine at the age of nineteen, she has pursued a professional life using her skills and experience to change the world for the better. AmyJo has lived as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ghana, West Africa, and has worked in Ramallah, Palestine and Nicaragua. She has been a solar cook herself since 2004.
