A vocal tongue accelerator, or VTA, was a device that allowed a wearer to accelerate his or her tongue when speaking in a language foreign to their own. They came in fully natural, organic versions which had fewer side effects than synthetic VTAs. These organic VTAs came in the form of pills, which would relax the tongue and associated muscle systems. Jawaese was one of the languages that demanded a quick tongue and VTAs were used to communicate with Jawas.
