The Laymil Research Project was in 2428 started by Michael Saldana to investigate the destruction of the Laymil spaceholms in orbit of Mirchusko. It involved many of the Confederation’s top scientists, housed at Tranquility, close to the Ruin Ring. Over the years since its initiation, scavengers in the Ruin Ring have found many artifacts, which have increased the Project’s understanding of Laymil physiology and culture. Among many Human researchers, eight Kiint scientists work in the Project. (tNG:1)
