During the Dark Ages, Roque was the prince of Pamplona and reviled as the Prince of the Mad. His particular insanity manifested in his fastidious plannings and machinations. In a time when the Low Clans were regarded as morons who deserved their fallen state, Roque managed not only to keep his princedom within the Lasombra-dominated Iberian Peninsula, but also rule over his fiefdom with surprising skill. Using emissaries from the Toreador knighthoods to his fellows and being a stern enemy of the Cainite Heresy that swept into Spain, he managed to keep a grudging respect from the other princes across the peninsula.
