The cousin of Salum Barows as well as the husband of Falzrahm Falenas, Kauss was a high-ranking member of the House of Barows, but as a politician and a person, overall, he was regarded by the people as weak and ineffectual. Kauss became caught in the succession struggle between his wife and her sister, Shahrewar, and became one of the many people assassinated by Nether Gate during the succession conflict between Falzrahm and her older sister.
