William Alex "Bill" North (born May 15, 1948 in Seattle, Washington) is a former center fielder in Major League Baseball. From 1971 to 1981, he played for the Chicago Cubs (1971-72), Oakland Athletics (1973-78), Los Angeles Dodgers (1978) and San Francisco Giants (1979-81). He was a switch hitter and threw right-handed. In an 11-year career, North compiled a career batting average of .261 with 20 home runs and 230 runs batted in. One of the fastest men in the game, he also recorded 395 stolen bases.
