Denmarie the Earth-Shaker is a legend popular in Tortall. Delia of Eldorne goaded Thom of Trebond and said that he was not that powerful, and Thom claimed that he could do anything Denmarie could do, like bring a man back from the dead. Although the entire legend or history wasn't explained, Denmarie was probably a necromancer with a powerful Gift. Her epithet was perhaps received when the earthquake hit, just like the quake that occurred when Roger of Conté was brought back to life.
