Tommy Jones, also known as Tom Jones, was one of Darren Shan's best friends whilst Darren was still at school. Along with Alan Morris, Steve Leonard and Darren, Tommy wanted to go and watch the Cirque du Freak in their hometown. Tommy finally watched the Cirque the night before the football match, where he was killed. He used to play as a goalkeeper when playing football at school. After Darren's 'death', he grew up to become a famous footballer, playing as a goalkeeper professionally. He also shortened his name to just Tom.
