Lawyers attained power by complicating the laws in a paperback-sized sacred text known as the "Axiom." Over the centuries, the laws in The Axiom have been expanded to thousands of pages, but The Axiom still contains all the basic fundamentals of Litigaran law. In Litigaran courts, if a lawyer presents a defense that carries even a whiff of bad faith or falsehood, the counselor suffers the same punishment as the client.
