Rip Graves was a soldier wrongly believed to have died at Flanders during WWI. He discovered that he was honored as one of the Unknown Soldiers at Arlington Cemetery. After America became involved with WWII, Rip became the Ghost of Flanders. He used the crypt dedicated to him as a base for his crime fighting operations. He had no powers, but was skilled fighter. He battled the Japanese for most of his career, but he also battled the Germans occasionally.
