Daniel Kass (born on September 21, 1982 in Pompton Plains, New Jersey is a professional snowboarder from Hamburg, NJ [1]. He is known for his death-defying spins and flips in the half-pipe as well as his punk image. He was the first rider to successfully land back to back 1080s in competition, at the 2002 US Open, starting off what can best be described as a "firestorm" of halfpipe progression within the top tiers of the snowboard community. His signature trick, the Backside Rodeo or Kassarole, is one of the most difficult and impressive inverted spins that can be done on a snowboard.
