A jaunting belt is a device used by Tomorrow People to enhance their teleportation abilities. Although such abilities are innate to Homo superior, the belt provides additional range and accuracy via a link to TIM, who is also able to remotely control the belt to jaunt the wearer back to The Lab in case of an emergency. Use of the jaunting belt was discontinued (in the original series) in The Lost Gods, when John invented the jaunting band. The Big Finish Series established that the Tomorrow People went back to using jaunting belts some time before the new stories began.
