Mrs Turner was a secretary at the Weatherfield Recorder. In July 1989, she dealt with councillor Steve Rafferty when he called at the office in a fit of rage to confront Ken Barlow over his recent council exposés, as his colleagues wrongly thought that he was Ken's mole at the Town Hall. As Ken was in a meeting with potential advertiser Maurice Jones, Mrs Turner told Steve that he was busy, but the irate man barged past into Ken's office regardless, where Ken dismissed Mrs Turner and dealt with the matter himself. Credited as "Secretary", the character's name was mentioned in dialogue.
