Kaaterskill Academy of Magic is located on the eastern escarpment of the Catskill Mountains overlooking the Hudson River in New York state. Kaaterskill enrolls American and Canadian magical children aged 11-17, corresponding to the middle school and high school years of the American Muggle education system. Kaaterskill Academy is unplottable and appears to Muggles as the ruin of a 19th century resort hotel.
