Ranworth is a village in the Norfolk Broads, and is on Ranworth Broad. The lower end of the Ranworth Broad links to the River Bure. "Malthouse Broad" is the modern name for "Ranworth Broad", where Dick and Dorothea had their first sailing lessons. CFT p128 The Death and Glories "emigrate" to Ranworth to escape from trouble, but boats are cast off there too. There is an illustration of the Death and Glory sailing on Ranworth Broad (BS11).
