The Centris series was a very sort lived line of Macintosh computers. It was introduced and discontinued in 1993. The "centr" in Centris is short for center, as the line was supposed to be the middle of the line machines from Apple, between the consumer grade Performa series and professional grade Quadra series. The machines were based on the 68040-series of processors from Motorola. Only 3 computers were made before Apple discontinued the line.
