Freddie Fountain is a man who appeared in Up in Smoke (episode) and who NCIS suspected had connections to terrorist Harper Dearing. NCIS Special Agents Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Anthony DiNozzo and Ziva David attempted to arrest him, only for Fountain to stop them and try to flee, forcing the Agents to give chase. During the arresting process, Fountain was shot in the chest, the impact of the gunshot killing him instantly while leaving Gibbs, Tony and Ziva stunned.
