Ernie Lee Banks played an old black man during Season 1 of The Shield. Ernie has appeared in numerous guest spots in many TV series and films since 1974, when he first appeared on the hit CBS-TV series Good Times. He also appeared as Rev. Ralph Abernathy in the 1978 NBC-TV miniseries King, which was about the slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr.
