A Sphinx is a creature that resembles a lion with the head of a human, and wings. The only Sphinx that appears in the series is at Living Mirage where it guards the covered Fairy Queen's Shrine. The Sphinx poses riddles to those who seek passage. If the riddle is answered correctly, then passage is granted.
