Bonasera's was a funeral parlour owned by and named after Amerigo Bonasera. After his daughter Maria was beaten up and the perpetrators were allowed to walk free, he asked for the assistance of Vito Corleone in gaining vengeance. All Vito asked in return was that Bonasera pledge his loyalty and friendship to him.
