During the Aiel War, Naldwinn assumed command of the 28,000 Andoran troops Queen Morgase sent to aid her erstwhile ally, King Laman Damodred of Cairhien. This contingent formed part of the Grand Alliance of nations which assembled outside Tar Valon to turn back the Aiel onslaught. Lord Aranvor commanded the Alliance on the third day of the Battle of the Shining Walls and was killed while leading his troops into battle.
