The word 破軍 came from the Chinese name of Alkaid. It is the seventh star of the seven-stars collectively known as "The Big Dipper" or 北斗七星 (hokutoshichisei, seven stars of the northern dipping). 破軍, literally means: "Army Breaker". The star is also known as 揺光 (lit: swaying/shaking light) in both Chinese and Japanese. Possibly due to its cool writing and literal meaning, 破軍 is used in many novels and mangas as names for characters and items.
