The brachial artery is the major blood vessel in the upper arm of humanoids. In 2373, Commander Worf stabbed General Martok during a training exercise in a holosuite, and missed severing Martok's brachial artery by less than three centimeters, an injury which would have led to his death had it occurred. Doctor Bashir treated the wound with an auto-suture, lecturing the general on his foolish decision to turn off the safety protocols while engaged in the battle. (DS9: "Soldiers of the Empire")
