Rafat was born in 1942 in Kermanshah (Iran). Since the 60 years she has lived and worked in Germany as a freelance artist and is a member of the Association of Visual Artists in Germany (BBK Aachen / Euregio eV). Currently she lives in Düsseldorffor several years. Early on Rafat had her own style, which is characterized by fine brushwork with acrylic paint and gouache on black background (black cardboard or canvas) and stands in the "Fantastic Art".
