Devil's End was a village where the Devil's Hump, a barrow mound which held Azal's spaceship, was located. In the 17th century, Matthew Hopkins, the Witchfinder-General, exposed a coven of witches in the village, and they were burned at the stake. (TV: The Dæmons) In the early 19th century, Lord Aldbourne and his followers played at devil worship in the cavern beneath the church at Devil's End.
