Malven was a Tortallan fief. It was neighbours with Eldorne. The lord of fief Malven held the title of Count. In Alanna's time the Count was Viljo of Malven, whose wife was Gaylyah of Malven. They had at least three sons, of which Ralon of Malven, later known as Claw, was one. Ralon was later disinherited after attempted rape.
