The creator of the show wanted to make a tv show. He originally started with the tv show The Haunted Hotel of Weegee. This show was also based off the true adventures of Spongee and his friends. However, the creator substituted Spongee for "Spiingediq", Sqeegee for "Squwibweed", Mr. Krabhz for "Mr. Craps", Sawndy for "Swandu Cheeqkz", Patreegee for "Fapdikc Starr", and Plankteegee for "Plengtuun". Unfortunately, the show didn't do very good, and was canceled after two seasons. The creator was going to get fired if he couldn't come up with a new show. He decided to take the characters from the show, and base it off their non-hotel adventures, and thus, Spongee the show was born.
