The town of L'Anguille is one of Bretonnia's four great ports. The modern town is built upon a ruined Elven fortress (Tor Alessi) by the river Sannez which dates to the time of the ancients. Its walls are very strong which is just as well because the settlement is often the target of coastal raiders. A former Duke had a castle built on a crag which is cut off from the mainland during high tide. In low tide, the castle can be a approached by those who know the route. Its highest tower serves as a lighthouse for ships coming to harbour.
