Haines Junction is a village in the Yukon. It is located along the Alaska Highway and next to the Kluane National Park and Reserve. The village had a population of 589 as of the 2006 Census. The village is the major administrative centre for the Champagne and Aishihik First Nations. The area is at the interior end of the Chilkat Pass, which served as one of three trading routes between the interior and coastal regions.
