Nation Song Contest 129 was hosted by Pebbleland for the first time time following their close-fought tie-break victory over Yaponesia in the previous edition, only the second instance of a tied victory in the history of the contest. This edition was themed around 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' with the slogan of 'Elements'. The participating nations were divided into four groups, depending on the semifinal they were in; the Fire Nation, the Water Tribe, the Earth Kingdom and the Air Nomads.
