Chapmon is a Lesser Digimon whose name is derived from the onomatopoeia for a splash (チャップン Chappun?) and whose design is derived from the mythological Kappa. It only lives in clear, beautiful waters, so it can only be seen in limited areas within the Digital World. It spends most of the day on the water's surface, and when it sleeps, it sleeps with only its face poking out of the surface. It has the sensitivity to detect the approach of opponents just from tiny movements of the water's surface, and will escape to a safe spot before it is found.
