The Golden is an inn in the city of Tear. Mat and Thom find Comar there when they are looking for Elayne, Nynaeve and Egwene. Comar is using two sets of dice to win from the locals. Mat gambles with him and wins even though they used the same dice. Comar pulls his sword out to kill Mat but Mat manages to toss him on to a table which breaks his back. The innkeeper promises to give the Defenders a different description for the killer.
