Australia was another important market for the Atlas, although it was badged as the Nissan Caball (1970–1981) and later the 'Nissan Cabstar' (1984–1992). It was built in Australia using many local components. Most models of the truck are distinguishable by 'Atlas' badging on the front, but the common Nissan or UD badge is usually used on the rear. In United States, the vehicle's primary competitors are Bering MS, Mitsubishi Fuso FE, and the Isuzu N-series and Chevrolet/GMC W-Series. and Japan competitors are Mitsubishi Fuso Canter, Isuzu Elf, Toyota Dyna, Hino Dutro.
