"All Along The Watchtower" is a song written by American songwriter Bob Dylan. XTC's version appeared on the 1977 album White Music. XTC's version was vastly different from any of the other versions featuring absolutely no guitar. Andy Partridge scat sings the song with Colin Moulding playing a simple bassline with keyboards courtesy of Barry Andrews scattered throughout the song. Many fans regard this to be one of XTC's worst songs. A live version appeared on the 1998 Transistor Blast box set.
