Khomeini was portrayed as a humorless, angry, insane zealot who was often seen with blood dripping from his hands. He spoke English with a mock Arabic accent. He was the presenter of a sketch entitled 'Miss Islamic World' where all the constestants wore identical black robes and face veils so that no features were visible. They were introduced as 'Miss Iran', 'Miss Saudi Arabia' and so on. Such a sketch would not now be allowed on UK television due to obvious reasons.
