The Reliant-class starship was a type of vessel on active duty in Starfleet during the late 23rd century. (FASA RPG: Federation Ship Recognition Manual) Some ships of this class had been upgraded from vessels of the Anton-class research cruiser specs. The Avenger-class heavy frigates (Ships of the Star Fleet) may have been an alternate continuity's nomenclature for the same vessel.
