Ensign Eric Simms Jr. - A recent academy graduate and was the son of Captain Bill Stiles best friend, Eric Simms. Styles promised Eric, he would take care of the young ensign. Eric was an outstanding pilot – one of the best at West Point Academy. Eric lost his father during the Earth-Romulan War and had regrets about his relationship with his father. He had unresolved issues, and had turned to Captain Styles as a surrogate father. (Star Trek: The Romulan Wars)
