Sarians are a near-human race native to the Caspian system. They are the result of a massive astronomical malfeasance upon their genetic code by exposure to a gamma ray shockwave. As the progeny of that event's survivors on Mergansar, a number have since emigrated to Caspar, welcomed Republic discovery and settlement, and established a partnership to the foundation of the Caspian commonwealth.
