Lieutenant Mark Latrelle was a Starfleet officer in 2151, and best friend of Lieutenant Malcolm Reed. In that year, Reed's shipmate on Enterprise, Ensign Hoshi Sato, covertly contacted Latrelle to inquire about Reed's favorite food, for the purpose of planning a surprise birthday dinner for Reed. Latrelle recalled that he and Reed used to frequent a restaurant on the Embarcadero, but only because Reed had a crush on the waitress, Maureen, and that he was unaware of Reed's favorite food.
