Anne Dunham met Barack Obama sr at Hawaii University. Later when her marriage broke up Dunham succeeded in getting a degree and looking after her son, the future President. Dunham and her son Barack lived in Indonesia for a few years but but when Barack was 10 they returned to Hawaii where Barack remained with his grandparents after his mother returned to Inonesia for Anthropology field work.
