Anne of Green Gables is a book by Lucy Maud Montgomery, published in 1908. It tells the story of Anne Shirley, a red-haired orphan with a wild imagination that goes to live with Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert, an old couple in Avonlea (where the story is set). It is the first book in the Anne of Green Gables series.
