Jonathan Hamm is police offier with the NYPD. He works as a dog tracker. Hamm and his hounds, Castor and Pollux, are brought to the New York Museum of Natural History to track the killer into the museum subbasement. While tracking a scent down a dark basement tunnel, one of the hounds bolts ahead of the police team and is killed by Mbwun.
