The Malurian system was a planetary system with four inhabited planets. It contained the Malurians, a warp-capable humanoid species. In the last census before its destruction, four billion people were counted in the system. (ENT: "Civilization"; TOS: "The Changeling" ) Garos, a Malurian found operating on the Akaali homeworld in 2151, claimed to have come from the system in a survey mission. (ENT: "Civilization") Prior to stardate 3541, the Federation had sent a science team, led by Doctor Manway, to the system. This team had a special transmitter for emergency situations.
